BoatU.S. Offers Online Navigation Course

By March 15, 2016No Comments

Basic navigation is a great skill for any boater; however, finding the time to work a navigation course into your daily schedule can be tough. Now, thanks to the BoatU.S. Foundation and the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, boaters can take an online marine navigation course for only $40.

The “Modern Marine Navigation” course can be taken wherever you can connect to the internet. Boaters also have the option of taking the class at their own pace, whether that means knocking it out in a week, or spacing lessons out over the course of a month or two.

“Modern Marine Navigation” is suitable for all recreational boaters on any body of water, whether your going out for the afternoon or for a longer trip. Lessons covered in the course include: pre-planning and en route navigation; reading and interpreting both nautical charts and a compass; time-speed-distance calculations; and fixing your boat’s position using visual techniques and by way of electronics.

A 10 percent off early bird discount is available for a limited time using the promotional code of “Nav2016.”
