Brunswick to Sell Off Sea Ray

By February 5, 2018No Comments

The Brunswick Corporation has announced that it plans to sell Sea Ray within the first six months of 2018. Sea Ray is one of 15 brands that make up the Brunswick Boat Group. Brunswick says it will continue to manage and operate Sea Ray as normal until the sale is complete.

“Our remaining brands will continue to be important elements of a robust, balanced marine business, with our boat portfolio serving healthy, expanding market segments,” says Mark Schwabero, Brunswick chairman and CEO. “This more focused strategy will provide the best opportunities for growth and will complement our other marine offerings, including engines, parts and accessories. This shift will also improve our risk and margin profile and is consistent with our commitment to drive shareholder value.”

Schwabero went on to commend Sea Ray for its rich history, reputation for craftsmanship, quality and styling. He says he believes the company will create good opportunities for a new owner.
Brunswick Boat Group includes a number of major marine brands, such as Mercury, Bayliner, Boston Whaler and Crestliner, to name a few.
