Captain Red Flowers to Run the Great Loop Challenge in Support of the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation

By May 20, 2024No Comments

Cancer survivor Captain Red Flowers will set out to run the Great Loop in record time in support of pediatric cancer research. Inspired by the courage and resilience of children undergoing cancer treatment at the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida, where he underwent similar treatment, he committed to run the Great Loop to raise $1 million.

The public is invited to follow along and donate to help support the effort. Canyon Bay Boats, who provided the boat for Captain Flowers’ journey, has also agreed to auction the boat upon the completion of his trip to raise additional funds for pediatric cancer research.

With the support of Canyon Bay, along with various sponsors and supporters around the world (including Power Pole, Tocaro Blue PROTEUS 3D Navigation, FGCI, Seaspension, Battery Tender, Seaview, Starlink, Gemlux, and Ezell Fuel Tanks), Flowers plans to navigate the Great Loop in record time.

The Great Loop Challenge has already raised over 10% ($100,000+) of their overall goal of $1 million in support of pediatric cancer research. Flowers’ Great Look Challenge will start on June 15th, 2024, with a plan to finish around July 15, 2024.
