Chicago’s Harborfest Slated for Late June

By May 26, 2016No Comments

Kick off the summer right this year at Chicago’s 2016 Harborfest Boat Show and Music Festival. This family-friendly event takes place from June 25-26 at 31st Street Harbor.

The festival will feature live entertainment, a number of local Chicago bands, food, games and activities for the kids, and alcohol for the adults. Chicago boaters who stop by to hear some tunes and hang out will receive free dockage and two tickets for free admission. Otherwise, general admission is $15.

The 31st Street Harbor opened in 2012, and is the city’s newest harbor. It has slips for 1,000 boats from 35- to 70-feet in length. Transient docking is available. The harbor also features a unique sustainable, eco-friendly design.

Organizers say there is still space available for dealers and vendors interested in showing off their boats. In-water displays run at $3 per foot, and booth displays along the promenade are going for $4 per foot. Participating boat dealers will also receive 10 complimentary tickets plus staff credentials.
