From February 1 to March 15, children of Coast Guard members can apply for an annual scholarship ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 to fund undergraduate education or training at an accredited technical school.
The 2022 scholarship season is a continuation of the Coast Guard Foundation’s commitment to strengthening the Coast Guard community by serving members and families, and applications are available to children of members who are active duty, active-duty reserve and retired. In its 30-year history, the program has awarded $6 million in scholarships to over 1,500 students, with an average of over $400,000 awarded annually over the past five years.
“We are proud of our more than three decades of supporting Coast Guard kids through our scholarship program,” says Susan Ludwig, president of the Coast Guard Foundation. “College is expensive, and we are truly honored to partner with our very generous supporters to help ease that burden for so many deserving Coast Guard families.”
