Thanks to brand-new technology from Dockmate, docking can be easier and more stress-free than ever. The company’s newest SoftDocking technology provides a measured and fully customizable engine response that helps compensate for the delay between the moment you engage the throttle and when the boat begins to move, making docking easier.

“As a long-time boat owner, I had early frustrations docking, which led us to develop this technology in the first place,” explains Dirk Illegems, president of Dockmate. “The Dockmate system is designed to eliminate the stress of docking by allowing you to get to a better vantage point than at the helm and control your boat from the rail with a line in your hand. Now with SoftDocking, we’re eliminating one more hurdle for boaters that will offer the easiest and most intuitive docking solution ever created. Whether you are a boat owner or captain, there is no reason not to install a Dockmate system on your yacht.”

The wireless remote control docking system helps eliminate the “kick” that boaters often experience in close quarters. SoftDocking is programmed by a certified Dockmate installer to the boat owner’s preferences, comes standard on all new Dockmate systems, and can even be retrofitted to existing systems for a service fee.

For standard control, boaters simply do a full push of the keypad button or joystick to engage the throttle, or a quick tap will initiate the pre-programmed, customizable, quick burst of the propeller for easy docking.
