At this year’s Miami International Boat Show’s Innovation Breakfast, the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) will bestow its 2017 Alan J. Freedman Memorial Leadership Award on Frank Marciano, the president of Dometic Americas.
“NMMA congratulates Frank Marciano on his exemplary work in the recreational boating industry and is proud to bestow upon him the Alan J. Freedman Award,” says NMMA president Thom Dammrich. “Frank’s attention to detail and commitment to marine product excellence and customer service have helped paved the way for marine manufacturing’s growth and innovation.”
One of Marciano’s accomplishments (among many) is his development of Dometic’s hallmark “virtual product” concept, which gives organizations the ability to respond to unique customer requests. Marciano began his career in the boating industry in 1991 at Marine Air Systems. Since, he has served on the NMMA Accessory Board and main board, participated with the American Boat and Yacht Council standards committee, and helped create the ABYC Marine Certified AC Technician program.
