Dometic Marine recently delivered a new groundbreaking innovation to the marine industry with its new Electric Power Assist Steering System. The system mounts to any outboard brand and integrates seamlessly with existing steering systems in a wide range of boats, including pontoons, runabouts, RIBS, aluminum fishing boats and center consoles with outboard power from 90 to 200 hp.

The new system delivers smooth and easy power steering, providing a more enjoyable driving experience. Best of all, the Electric Power Assist system is affordable and easy to install, and integrates easily with any existing SeaStar rack or rotary cable steering system, and works with standard or tilt helms.

“This new product fills a very important gap in our family of marine steering products and the boating industry as a whole,” says Eric Fetchko, president of Dometic Marine. “We’re excited to be bringing all the benefits of power steering within reach of more boaters. The fact that Electric Cable Power Assist can be easily integrated with existing steering systems makes it even more of a win-win for boaters and the industry.”

The Electric Power Assist Steering System debuted during the virtual 2020 Virtual IBEX show held on September 29 – October 2 and won the coveted IBEX Innovation Award for the Propulsion Parts, Propellers category.
