Dossin Great Lakes Museum Celebrates Re-opening

The Dossin Great Lakes Museum on Belle Isle in Detroit, Michigan will celebrate its grand re-opening May 17 from 6-11 p.m. The event brings together some of the city’s most prominent leaders in celebration of Detroit’s rich heritage to raise funds for the Detroit Historical Society, which operates the museum.

The museum is dedicated to showcasing the story of the Great Lakes, with special emphasis on Detroit’s role in regional and national maritime history. 

Tickets for the evening gala are available and cost between $100 and $600 per person. The museum officially re-opens to the public May 18. For more information, call 313-833-1980 or visit detroithistorical.org.
