This ain’t your grandpa’s pontoon, that’s for sure. Minnesota-based ELUX Marine Inc. has unveiled a luxury, electric, fiberglass pontoon. The 24-foot ELUX pontoon is powered by a 72V, 420-amp lithium battery pack propelling a direct drive inboard electric motor to a top-speed of 14 mph. At cruising speed, the pontoon will run for more than 10 hours on a single charge. The electric power means trouble-free boating with no gas to fill, no oil to change, no ignition to fail and no emissions to pollute. To charge, simply plug the ELUX into a standard electrical outlet.
Other features include integrated passenger seating for 12, flip-up storage, multiple USB chargers, slide-out cabinets for a full-size cooler, trash and recycling storage, and an unobstructed 2-foot swim platform with under-mount telescoping ladder
