The Sea Tow Foundation, focused on educating and bringing awareness to safe boating practices, has launched its “Summer of Boating Safely” contest. Prizes for the contest include inflatable life jackets, a VHF radio, a sports camera and more — and all you have to do is record a selfie video answering simple safe boating and post it on Facebook or Instagram tagging @SeaTowFoundation and using the hashtag #summerofboatingsafely.

“We know that boating can be a wonderful way to relax and take advantage of the beautiful weather around you, but we want everyone to experience it safely,” says Gail Kulp, executive director of the Sea Tow Foundation. “This contest was put in place to educate boaters everywhere. The best part is that everyone can help us in our mission with just a simple post on their social media account and they may even win a prize.”

It’s not too late to enter the Memorial Day Contest, which started May 25 and runs until June 30. The question is: “What is something you do to boat safely that you wish everyone would do on the water?” Winners will be chosen on July 15.

The Independence Day contest is next, opening July 1 and running until July 31. The question then is: “What do you tell guests on your boat so that everyone on board is boating safely?” Winners will be announced on August 15.

The final contest of the summer is the Labor Day contest that runs August 1 through September 7. The question is: “What three items are on your checklist for boating safely?”

Winners will be chosen on September 15.
