The Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council designated both Evinrude and Mercury Marine as “Green Masters” in its Wisconsin Green Masters Program. The program surveys companies based on categories like energy, climate, workforce, governance, community and education outreach.
Evinrude has been lauded the past few years for its E-TEC G2 engines, which utilize direct fuel injection and produce lower emissions than most outboards. The company also practices a number of sustainability initiatives during the testing of new products.
This is Mercury Marine’s seventh consecutive year as a “Green Master”; the company’s 2017 sustainability report outlines its commitment to fuel-efficient products, water and energy conservation, and a new solar panel roof at the company’s EMEA headquarters.
