Evinrude Employees Celebrate Earth Day

By May 15, 2017No Comments

A number of Evinrude employees celebrated this Earth Day by participating in Milwaukee Riverkeeper’s 22nd Annual Spring River Cleanup. The cleanup event took place over a weekend in late April and saw more than 4,000 volunteers picking up trash along the Milwaukee River Basin.

“We take personal responsibility for the impact our products and our company have on the environment,” said Olivier Pierini, Evinrude director of global marketing and strategic planning. “Evinrude strives to create a better, cleaner world for future generations of power boaters to enjoy.”

In total, 31 Evinrude employees walked along the beach to pick up trash, while seven Evinrude E-TEC powered boats carrying 24 additional volunteers collected garbage in previously inaccessible river nooks. Evinrude, in general, has focused on environmental sustainability: The company’s E-TEC G2 engines have the lowest emissions of any combustion outboard currently on the market.
