First Fresh Coast Film Festival This October

By September 20, 2016No Comments

There’s a new film festival in town this October, with the aim of celebrating the outdoor lifestyle, the environment and the spirit of the Great Lakes and Upper Midwest. The documentary film festival, called the Fresh Coast Film Festival, kicks off October 13-16 in Marquette, Michigan.

This year’s festival will show 50 different documentary films over the span of four days. If you’re unsure about attending the whole festival, test the waters on Thursday, October 13 with two free films, “Great Lakes, Bad Lines” and “Skips Stones For Fudge.” Keeping with the spirit of the festival, there will also be 10 guided outdoor activities to give attendees a taste of what Marquette County has to offer. Tours include rock climbing, fly fishing, sea kayaking, waterfall hikes and mountain bike rides.

Organizers say the festival will be a great opportunity for filmmakers, students, environmentalists, outdoors athletes and the media to mix. If everything goes according to plan, the festival will take place annually each October.
