Gage Marine and the Great Lakes Boat Building School (GLBBS) are partnering to introduce post-secondary opportunities in the marine industry to interested students through a Marine Trades Showcase on April 26 highlighting the school, Gage Marine and various opportunities available in the growing marine industry.
“To remain a leader in the marine industry and build on the vision of the Gage family in establishing their heritage of excellence, we must be innovative in our approach to attracting quality talent to our organization,” says FJ Frazier, chief operating officer at Gage Marine. “With our student sponsorship at Great Lakes Boat Building School we are addressing the workforce shortage in our industry. This event will help us spread the word in our area about the school and our business.”
The event will be held at Gage Marine’s WI-50 location on Tuesday, April 26 starting at 10 a.m., and will provide opportunities for students to learn more about the Comprehensive Careers Boat Building and Marine Service Technology Programs from GLBBS representatives, as well as tour the Gage Marine facilities, enjoy lunch and finish the day with a cruise on Lake Geneva.
GLBBS and Gage Marine, which traces its roots in Lake Geneva back to 1873, have partnered before to help advance the marine industry, and Gage Marine will be continuing its student sponsorship program for GLBBS for the 2022-23 school year. GLBBS, based out of Cedarville, Michigan, has a proven track record of 100% placement of students in rewarding careers.
“We are excited about working with the leadership group at Gage Marine to showcase the amazing opportunities for learning at our school and applying those skills at a state of the art and multi-purpose marine operation like theirs,” adds Nikki Storey, Great Lakes Boat Building School. “It is extremely rewarding for us to see our alumni contributing to the success of an outstanding marine leader like Gage.”
