A ribbon cutting ceremony for the newly completed Phase 2 of Glass City Metropark will kick off opening weekend festivities on June 9 at 11am. Attendees can enjoy a free concert Friday evening from local band Nikki D & the Sisters of Thunder, the grand opening of new restaurant The Garden by Poco Piatti, and the First Saturday celebration on June 10, with the first roller skating party of the season in the evening. Sunday, stop by the free Outdoor Expo from 12 – 5pm to participate in kayaking, mountain biking, rock climbing and more.
Phase 2 of Glass City features the new restaurant, Market Hall, The Ribbon roller and ice skating trail, nature-themed children’s play areas, art installations and three miles of trails. Phase 1, completed in 2020, included the Pavilion and a sledding hill.
Located in East Toledo, Ohio, Glass City Metropark is the first part of the larger Glass City Riverwalk that invisions a transformed riverfront with 300 acres of new and revitalized green space. Starting opening weekend, Glass City Metropark will be open every day from 7am to 10pm.
