One happened in 1956, when Grand Banks introduced its very first trawler design. Since then, the company has presented groundbreaking models that have evolved with the times to meet the needs of those wishing for a yacht of this very profile.
Now, built on this well-earned heritage of innovative, trawler-based designs, the Grand Banks 54 carries on the legacy of efficient, long- range cruising yachts.
“We emphasize cruising efficiency in our hull form and then match it with a propulsion system that is in sync with our design,” says Mark Richards, CEO of Grand Banks. “Efficiency is worthless without comfort, so we made sure the Grand Banks 54 will also offer sure-footedness in a wide range of sea states.”
This boat slants toward family cruising and will meet expectations on both long trips and jaunts. To that end, this model can be configured with a flybridge or enclosed skylounge, upper or lower galley layouts, and a two- or three-stateroom offering. For visits ashore while anchored, there is a 10-foot dinghy with a 1,000-pound davit topside. A wide beam measuring 17-feet 6-inches ensures abundance of room throughout.
Thanks to the latest boatbuilding technology and state-of-the-art design and engineering, such as vacuum infusion and carbon fiber, the Grand Banks 54 features a naturally lower center of gravity. It runs on a bottom whose engineering promises to flatten confused seas while moving through water with peak efficiency and stability. With Grand Banks’ legendary fit, finish and attention to detail, beauty and quality run right down to the keel. Driving one might turn into your own defining boat moment.
