Grand-Craft Expands to Build New Model

By July 19, 2016No Comments

Late last year, Grand-Craft Boats purchased a 10,000-foot former Chris-Craft boat-building facility near Lake Macatawa in Holland, Michigan. It was recently revealed that the vintage mahogany boat builder will be using the facility to build its latest powerboat model, a 25-foot Super Sport.

“All our boats are entirely hand-built and take from seven months to a year-and-a-half to build, depending on size,” says Jeff Cavanagh, the owner of Grand-Craft. The boat builder typically completes five new boats each year for high-end clients.

The new 25 Super Sport is Grand-Craft’s first new model in four years. The Super Sport will carry an Ilmore 6.2 liter 430 hp Ocean Performance Series engine and have room to accommodate up to eight people. Boaters will be able to check out the Super Sport at the Geneva Lakes Antique and Classic Boat Show in Wisconsin in September or the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in November. The boat is expected to go for a cool $279,000.
