The Great Lakes Sailing Co. continues its pattern of slow but steady growth with the expansion of its Marlow Hunter dealer region. The company has targeted western Michigan with its Marlow Hunter products, but will now cater to all of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula, as well as the eastern half of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
For 30 years, the Traverse City-based Great Lakes Sailing Co. has offered charters and an American Sailing Association sailing school. Great Lakes Sailing Co.’s Dave Conrad says the company eventually realized it made sense to sell boats as well, as many longtime customers would come to them for advice when beginning the boat-buying process.
In 2012 the company became a Gemini Catamaran dealer, and a Jeanneau charter dealer in 2013. Great Lakes Sailing Co. first became a Marlow Hunter dealer in 2013 as well. The company is currently a stocking dealer for Marlow Hunter keel boats and trailerables.
Great Lakes Sailing Co. will be at the Chicago Strictly Sail show in January and the Grand Rapids Boat Show in February if boaters are interested in learning more.
