Highfield Sport 800

Spine-tingling adventure comes to mind previewing the Sport 800, the newest rigid inflatable boat (RIB) offering from Highfield.

At 26 feet and equipped with twin 200-hp outboards, this dayboat has the performance and durability to handle the Great Lakes and take you places you can only go in a RIB.

“Our new Sport 800 RIB is like the Land Rover of the water,” notes Michael Carroll, marketing and business development director for Highfield Boats.

With adaptive seating to make multiple configurations, there are many features to please families and promote relaxation and adventure. The hard T-top option provides respite from rough weather. For sunny days, an additional sunshade extension offers protection from the rays. Toss in LED lighting and speakers to dial in the mood to match the marina.

An onboard fridge keeps the sandwiches and beverages cool, and a table is standard, along with a tow post and a shower kit for those who enjoy a quick dip. Two swim ladders make reboarding easy, and anchoring is effortless with a windlass — a feature you wouldn’t expect on a RIB. The new Sport 800 even has room for an optional portable toilet.

Construction-wise, Highfield Boats makes one of the best-selling lines in North America. ORCA-brand Hypalon tubes, flush-mount non-return valves, and a high tensile chromated and power-coated aluminum hull indicate this boat is made for more than just play. With a 26-degree deadrise hull, families have the confidence to safely navigate offshore.

At the helm, the captain will find a carbon dash for the console and an electrical pack to keep the party going for hours. A four-seater aft bench converts into a huge sundeck, and there is an additional sundeck forward.
