The new near-sister ship to Hylas’ popular M44 is set to make its stateside debut this summer. At 48 feet, 10 inches, the Hylas M49 is designed with performance and livability in mind. Designed by New Zealander Dean Salthouse, the M49 combines the best of the M44 concept with even more cockpit space to host family and friends that houses a day head, pop-up grill, wet bar, cockpit refrigeration and ice maker.
Below deck, two suite cabins provide plenty of space for family and friends, with the forepeak owner’s cabin featuring a center line double bed, “his and hers” hanging lockers and underbed storage. The guest cabin can easily be converted from a double to twin setup, and there is even a third bunk option.
Powered by twin Yanmar 8LV diesels, the M49 has plenty of power and performance while offering optimal fuel economy, making it ideal for dayboating and longer offshore adventures.
