Irish Boat Shop is hosting “Catch a Wave” on Friday, August 2 from 8am to 6:30pm at its Traverse City location. The event features Wakesurf World Champion John Akerman, and invites fans to learn tips, techniques and boat setups from one of the best live and in-person.
Akerman rides a Super Air Nautique G23, and to commemorate Nautique’s 100th anniversary, the event will feature a newly redesigned 2025 model at the event, with another new Super Air Nautique S23 available on display.
“We want to get people out on the water to experience wakesurfing and wakeboarding at its best,” says Colin Texter, general manager of Irish Boat Shop, Traverse City, “We invite our customers and the local boating community to see why we believe Nautique is the highest performing wake boat and to learn ‘inside’ tips from Nautique pros!”
Adam Wensink, Nautique’s Northeast Account Manager and also an accomplished Nautique Athlete, will be offering demo rides and explaining the boats’ operational details and features. A BBQ buffet dinner will be served and prizes will be awarded at the Irish Boat Shop following the demo rides from 4:30-6:30pm.
