Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 349

Though it’s the smallest in the line of Sun Odyssey sailboats, the Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 349 stands tall as an easy-to-operate and affordable sailor.

Looking like a pro racer with dual helms and a wide stance, the 349 will feel like one too, thanks to the winged high performance keel, twin rudders and modern hull design. But it can be shorthanded, since the main and jib sheeting lead aft.

Combining performance, comfort and the overall design by Marc Lombard, the 349 results in a safe, seaworthy and stable sailor. The cockpit design includes port and starboard teak bench seating with deep coamings, winches close to helms and teak foot rests.  

Below, the L-shaped galley is starboard next to the stairs, making it easy to feed the crew on deck. The galley is fitted with a sink, counters with fiddles, two-burner stove, microwave, top-loaded fridge and over/under storage. A center table has flip-up leaves and is flanked by outboard bench seating, perfect for dining or lounging.

Forward is a private stateroom with V-shaped berth. Aft are two cabins that can be configured to sleep in either one or both.

Worthy of mention are the drop-down swim platform, teak cockpit table, life raft locker aft, ample ambient lighting from overhead hatches, side windows and ports, optional cockpit access to third cabin or sail locker and standard/performance sail plans.
