Offshore powerboat racer Keith Holmes of Nunica, Michigan was tragically killed in a racing accident on July 30 at the OPA Offshore sanctioned St. Clair River Classic race.
The 30-year veteran in the sport was owner and throttleman for the sponsored AMERICAN ETHANOL/CAT CAN DO, a 40-foot Skater catamaran hull competing in the Extreme class. Making his offshore racing debut, driver Jamie Sartin of Norcross, Michigan received serious injuries and has since been released from the hospital.
