Kettle Creek Marina Turns 30

By June 16, 2015No Comments

Thirty summers ago, Fiona Nisbet and John Jackson had a vision for transforming a rundown marina into a welcoming boating destination in the heart of the fishing village of Port Stanley, Ontario.

“Our goal was to have the friendliest little marina on Lake Erie,” says Nisbet. “We can’t compete with the big guys with their host of marine services, so instead we offer a relaxing private oasis of landscaped grounds, complimentary propane grills, and big Muskoka chairs for watching sailboats drift by on the river. A new putting green has proved very popular while our evening campfire is always great for boaters swapping tall tales and ghosts stories.”

Recent upgrades to the marina include new restrooms and showers and a main floor office selling marina souvenirs. Throughout the summer, Kettle Creek will host a cake and champagne gathering on the 30th of each month. “We want to show appreciation for the years of support from our local and American boaters,” Jackson says.
