Charlevoix Yacht Club is getting a new home just north of Ferry Beach Park on the shores of Lake Charlevoix, according to Petoskey News. Planning commissioners reviewed and approved the project plans during a monthly city hall meeting, despite objections from residents who live nearby.
“They were a little concerned about noise and traffic, but mainly about noise,” Jonathan Scheel, the Charlevoix Zoning Administrator, told Petoskey News. “Commissioners thoughtfully discussed that and put a condition that events follow the existing ordinance on noise, which means the noise level is gone by 11 p.m.”
