The 45-room Laurium Manor Inn in Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula was named the #1 Historical Bed & Breakfast in the United States by Newsweek Magazine’s Readers’ Choice Awards. Keweenaw, situated on Lake Superior, boasts rugged beauty, a wealth of cultural heritage and a warm welcome, with the historic inn welcoming visitors back to the Copper Country’s golden age at a 1908 mansion complete with stained glass windows, intricate woodwork, grand fireplaces and original furnishings.

“Dave and I are incredibly honored to see Laurium Manor recognized as the nation’s top historic bed and breakfast. For more than three decades, we’ve dedicated ourselves to preserving this home and sharing its story with visitors from around the world,” say innkeepers Julie and Dave Sprenger. “This award is especially meaningful because it came through the enthusiastic support of our guests and community. We’re deeply grateful to everyone who voted and believed in Laurium Manor — this recognition belongs to you as much as it does to us.”

The title of top historic inn is expected to bring new travelers to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula for experiences ranging from outdoor adventure and hiking to cultural heritage opportunities like a stay in the celebrated inn.

“The Laurium Manor Inn’s recognition as the nation’s best historic B&B highlights the Keweenaw as a destination that blends stunning landscapes with one-of-a-kind cultural treasures. This award will help attract new visitors eager to experience the Copper Country’s past while supporting our local businesses today,” adds Visit Keweenaw Executive Director Brad Barnett.
