The 2024 Ghost Ships Festival will be held Friday and Saturday, March 1-2, 2024 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, announced nonprofit Wisconsin Underwater Archeology Association.

Founded in 1999 and originally held in Milwaukee, the festival brings together historians, scholars and the public interested in the thousands of historic lost ships that lie at the bottom of the Great Lakes.

This year, the event will feature live music, presentations from underwater archeologists, shipwreck hunters, documentary producers and more, and culminate in the reveal of a major new shipwreck discovery on Lake Superior. Attendees can also browse a collection of merchandise booths and exhibits from local artists, musicians, historians, archeologists and more.

Pre-registration tickets cost $20, tickets at the door are $25, and youth under 18 get in for free! The Ghost Ships Festival is co-sponsored by the Wisconsin Shipwreck Coast National Marine Sanctuary, the Wisconsin Historical Society’s Maritime Archeology program and the Wisconsin Maritime Museum.
