Marine Industry Loses Visionary Leader

By June 2, 2015No Comments

Founder and CEO of Sea Tow, Captain Joseph Frohnhoefer, Jr., died March 24, at the age of 71, after a brief battle with cancer.

“Capt. Joe,” as he was known, leaves a lasting impact on the marine industry and on the international maritime industry as a whole. In addition to running Sea Tow with the help of his wife of 46 years, Georgia, daughter Kristen, and son Joseph III, Capt. Joe was a volunteer EMT in his local community on Long Island, New York’s North Fork. In 1983, Capt. Joe founded Sea Tow Services International Inc., the nation’s first on-water marine assistance provider.

In lieu of flowers, the Frohnhoefer family asks that donations be made to the Southold, New York Fire Department or Sea Tow Foundation.
