Combining mahogany plywood and carbon fiber into a 13-foot yacht was a no-brainer for Marco Arnaboldi. He previously was the director of AB Yachts before creating Wooden Boats in 2012.
“I set up Wooden Boats as a boutique shipyard to continue the progressive research that has always characterised Studio Arnaboldi,” he says. “This time I was interested in combining wood, the most noble of boatbuilding materials that has outstanding mechanical properties, with advanced carbon composites.”
The WB40 Classic features a deep-V hull, twin 420-hp Yanmar engines plus two MJP 250 waterjets, space for 14 guests, a shower and toilet below deck, and more. There’s lots of space to soak up the sun — the cockpit table can also double as a sundeck, there is a sunbed on top of the deckhouse, and a sunbed above the engine compartment. Choose a bimini top for the open-air kitchen or go with a hard-top if you’re looking for permanent shade.
