This propeller was specifically designed for high-horsepower, outboard-powered boats, offering boaters a 10 percent increase in fuel economy at cruising speeds.
“As marina gasoline prices have continued to rise, customers are increasingly focused on fuel economy,” says Jared Reichenberger, Mercury Propellers brand manager. “We realized an appreciable fuel economy gain could be found in the design of the propeller itself.”
The 10 percent fuel economy gain boaters get with the Enertia ECO translates into actual dollars, as the typical offshore boater averages nearly 100 hours on the water each year. And at today’s gas prices, this propeller alone will save more than $550 per year — or more than $5,500 over 10 years. The Enertia ECO also helps extend a boat’s range, lengthening the time between fill-ups.
The propellers will be available in right- and left-hand rotation across four pitches — 17, 19. 21 and 23 inches — beginning in January 2014.
