Mercury Racing announced the launch of a fund-matching and fundraising relief program to support the Cape Coral and Fort Myers, Florida, communities impacted by Hurricane Ian. The Mercury Racing Hurricane Ian Relief program will offer financial support to the Cape Coral Caring Center, a year-round emergency food pantry that helps provide shelter, food and supplies to hurricane victims, and the Fort Myers Offshore Club, which promotes safe and responsible offshore boating and has been instrumental in the community following the hurricane.
“Our products are used in water across the globe,” says Stuart Halley, general manager for Mercury Racing. “But, right now, our hearts are focused on the citizens and businesses in Florida that have been devastated by Hurricane Ian. We have a large base of boat builder partners, dealers, and customers in Florida, and we’ve hosted events and competed in powerboat races in communities that will forever be changed. Today, in honor of all those people, we’re announcing our Hurricane Ian Relief program.”
Mercury Racing will match any donation made via the Cape Coral Caring Center’s website, up to $25,000, from now until the end of October 2022. In addition, all profits from a limited-edition Mercury Racing Hurricane Ian Relief T-shirt available on the Mercury Racing Speed Shop will be donated to Fort Myers Offshore Club.
