Mercury Unveils New Racing Outboard

By March 7, 2016No Comments

Meet Mercury Marine’s “sinister competitive relative” to the Verado 400R: The four-stroke race motor, ROS (Race Offshore). The racing outboard made its on-water debut at the Dubai Grand Prix back in November, and will power the XCAT class in the 2016 XCAT World Series race season.

The ROS features the 400R powerhead mounted on an all-new race midsection, featuring the competition-proven Mercury Racing heavy-duty swivel clamp bracket assembly. A Sport Master gearcase transfers the ROS’s massive power to the water. Mercury Racing has also developed a new line of CNC cleaver propellers specifically for the ROS.
