Merry-Time Festival of Trees Returns to DCMM

By November 3, 2014No Comments

Get ready for an abundance of beautifully decorated trees in Door County! The Merry-Time Festival of Trees returns to the Door County Maritime Museum on Nov. 15 and will run through Dec. 9.

The trees can be viewed during regular museum hours and many special events are planned throughout the nearly month-long festival. Once again, visitors will have the opportunity to enter a raffle to win their favorite tree.

“Businesses, organizations, artists and creative individuals are invited to donate fully-decorated trees,” said Trudy Herbst, the museum director of development. “A sign with the name of tree sponsors will be prominently displayed with your tree throughout the event as well as mentions in our brochure, on our website and in other event communications.”

Other special events planned during the Festival of Trees include “Tree Tales,” a children’s story hour, “A Writing Adventure” in collaboration with Write On, Door County and Ministry Door County Medical Center’s Children’s Choir performance on Saturday, Nov. 15. Back by popular demand, Ministry Door County Medical Center’s “Pirate Day” will take place on Saturday, Nov. 29. The always popular “Santa on the Tug” with a book signing and story time for “The Night Before Christmas”, by Carol Davis, is planned for Saturday, Dec. 6.
