Miller Marina, one of the oldest family-run marinas in the State of Michigan, celebrates its 80th birthday in 2014.
Headquartered in St. Clair Shores and owned and operated by the Miller family, the marina was first opened in 1934 by William C. Miller, grandfather to Chip Miller, who now runs the facility’s day-to-day operations.
William Miller opened Miller Marina on the same property where it stands today, as a small motor repair shop selling Evinrude outboard motors. According to Chip, William “saved his money and kept buying small parcels of property.” Today, Chip says, “We’re just getting started!”
