Milwaukee Film Festival Calls for Entries

By March 6, 2017No Comments

Although 2016’s festival ended just a few short months ago, the 9th annual Milwaukee Film Festival is now calling for entries. The festival is accepting films of all genres, forms and lengths until the deadline on June 12. Submission to the festival is free, and for the third year in a row the festival is offering to pay for all work screened in the festival.

“It’s been four months since our festival ended, and we’re ready to start watching films and conceptualizing the content for our 2017 edition,” says Jonathan Jackson, the festival’s artistic and executive director. “In addition, we are proud to continue our commitment to paying artists.”

Filmmakers have a chance to win a number of awards at the festival, totaling more than $34,000 in cash prizes. These awards include: Documentary Jury Award, the Black Lens Jury Award, the Shorter is Better Award and the Milwaukee Music Video Award, among others.

The 2017 Milwaukee Film Festival will take place from September 28 to October 12.
