Mackinac Island’s award-winning, family owned and operated Mission Point Resort will start its 2023 season on April 28 with a brand-new renovation and new programming to offer guests an incredible experience.
The renovation features a fresh design of the impressive vaulted log beam lobby, as well as the Round Island Kitchen restaurant. Guests will enjoy a new design that highlights the natural beauty of the island while maintaining the historic nature of the structure, all with modern comfort and amenities. Many elements of the redesign were inspired by guest input.
“The response to our guest survey on recommendations was overwhelming. More than 600 guests provided inspiration in creating Mackinac Island’s Newest Living Room. We learned that brightening the once dark lobby, bringing the lake and floral colors of the outside in, and creating relaxed yet elegant seating areas will draw families, friends and guests together to reconnect, play games and perhaps read by the fire with a glass of wine as if they were in their own living room on the island,” says Liz Ware, vice president of sales & marketing.
The restaurant will feature expanded alfresco dining and a round bar to optimize views, as well as new seating and tables.
In addition to its exciting redesign, Mission Point welcomes a host of programs to elevate guests’ stays, including five-course prix fixe dinners at Chianti restaurant, ready-to-go picnics with the Mission Point Picnic Society, dog-friendly amenities, the Lakeside Spa & Salon, hiking, biking and tours, afternoon childcare activities at Mission Point Minis Club, putt putt at The Greens of Mackinac, lawn games, live music and happy hours, movies at Mission Point and resort shopping highlighting local artisans.
