Alva Yachts, a new company out of Germany, is specializing in sustainable catamarans, sailing yachts and houseboats. The company aims to provide sustainable electric yachting to the boating world.
Alva Yachts’ houseboats are designed with solar panels that allow boaters to stay on the water longer. They also use recycled metal and insulation. To keep the boatbuilding process sustainable, the company has promised to use sustainable materials to stay close to carbon neutral.
“Our goal is to provide floating solutions,” says Alva Yachts co-founder Mathias May. “The same technology and design ethos that creates beautiful, low-impact yachts can also drive change in the houseboat and floating villa sector.
