New Cedar Point Water Park Opens in May

By April 12, 2017No Comments

Cedar Point is pulling out all the stops with its new family-friendly water park, set to open this summer. Cedar Point Shores Water Park will draw from the park’s past and revolve around a Great Lakes theme.

The park, which has views of Lake Erie, will debut a number of adrenaline-pumping attractions. These include: Storm Surge, a 76-foot-tall water slide; the Lake Erie Nor’easter, a enclosed slide enjoyed by inner tube; the Cedar Creek lazy river; Fisherman’s Fury body slides; Riptide Raceway mat racer slides; Portside Plunge; Lakeslide Landing; Lemmy’s Lagoon; and the Breakwater Bay wave pool.

“Our history started as a simple bathing beach back in 1870, when it was all about cooling off and enjoying time together along the shore of Lake Erie,” says Jason McClure, vice president and general manager of Cedar Point. “The transformation of Cedar Point Shores puts all the pieces together: The connection to the lake, the mile-long Cedar Point Beach and thrilling water attractions. One day just isn’t enough to experience everything we’re offering this summer.”

Cedar Point Shores will also feature new dining options, including Crystal Rock Cafe and the adult-friendly Muffleheads Beach Bar and Schooner’s Beach Bar.

The new park will open to the public on May 27. Learn more and check out a virtual tour at 13abc.com/content/news/Take-a-virtual-trip-to-Cedar-Points-newest-attractions-419166574.html.
