For the Coast Guard Foundation the New Year will also bring new leadership. Susan P. Ludwig has been selected to replace Anne B. Brengle as president of the organization following Brengle’s retirement in December.

“Having traveled throughout New York, New England and many of the Coast Guard communities across our nation over the last three years, I have been inspired by the deep devotion and commitment to honor, respect and duty of the Coast Guard members and families that I’ve met,” says Ludwig. “As a civilian-based organization, we have a great opportunity to make a difference for the members of the Coast Guard and I look forward to leading the Coast Guard Foundation to new heights.”
Ludwig will be leaving her post as regional director of philanthropy to take the helm as president. Ludwig has 10 years of experience in non-profit fundraising and administration work, as well as two decades of experience working in corporate sales and product management. As president, Ludwig looks to advance the Coast Guard Foundation’s mission of looking after the education and welfare of Coast Guard members and their families, while raising awareness of the organization itself and increasing support for its programs.
