New Ferry Coming to Put-in-Bay

By September 27, 2018No Comments

Miller Boat Line has ordered a new 140-foot-long, 38.5-foot-wide ferry to join its current fleet of four passenger/vehicle ferries. The drive-on, drive-off ferries can accommodate 26 vehicles or 600 passengers and travel between the peninsula of Catawba to Put-in-Bay and Middle Bass Island, Ohio on Lake Erie.

The ferry will be available from Superior, Wisconsin builder Fraser Shipyards in fall of 2019 and will have better propulsion and maneuverability, more cargo space, and a maindeck ADA accessible passenger cabin. It will be christened in honor of Mary Ann Market, the company’s late owner.
