New Maritime School in Cleveland

By February 18, 2017No Comments

In July 2017, a new Great Lakes maritime school will open its doors in Cleveland, Ohio. The Davis Aerospace and Maritime High School will share a building with Cleveland High School for Digital Arts and will offer 100 to 120 ninth graders training to become pilots, marine biologist and boat captains.

The new high school will be a part of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) and will blend “unique programs with traditional core instruction with an emphasis on science, technology, education and math, or STEM. The Davis Aerospace and Maritime High is for students who want to pursue their curiosity or passion for the aviation, aerospace, maritime or marine industries,” says the school’s website.

CMSD is taking advantage of Cleveland’s proximity to Lake Erie, several area airports and a vast array of aerospace/maritime-related enterprises.
