After five years, a new 43-mile water trail that surrounds Beaver Island and is 30 miles offshore from Charlevoix, Michigan, has been finished and marked. The non-motorized trail will thrill paddlers and campers used to rustic settings, with two routes over shipwrecks and family-friendly areas, including Paradise Bay and parts of the island’s inland lakes.
At 56 square miles and made up of 14 islands, Beaver Island is perfect for novice and advanced paddlers alike. For more information and a map of the trail, visit michiganwatertrails.org/trail.asp?ait=cv&cid=361.
