Marine coating company AkzoNobel displayed its new coating technology at the 2018 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
The Awlgrip High Definition Technology is meant to be more abrasion resistant and durable than other options on the market and is available in 18,000 colors.
“We’re really proud and excited to offer customers the chance to benefit from high-performance coatings technology that has been tested in some of the world’s most extreme environments,” says Hans Slegtenhorst, global segment manager yacht for AkzoNobel. “We spent more than three years developing Awlgrip HDT and worked closely with the Volvo Ocean Race Boatyard team to fine-tune its formulation.”
Awlgrip is now available with the Awlgrip Quick Build yacht priming system, the Interlux Micron WA water-based antifouling coating, and the Micron 99 Self Polishing Copolymer (SPC) antifouling. For more information, visit awlgrip.com/awlgrip-home.aspx.
