The American Boat and Yacht Council announced it is now accepting nominations for the 2026 Outstanding Technician Awards, part of International Marine Service Technician Week from April 20 to 24, 2026. In its fifth year, the awards recognize service professionals who have gone above and beyond in customer service, technical training and industry involvement. Ten technicians will be honored with a $100 Visa gift card, technician prize pack and featured on ABYC social media.
“So many marine technicians go above and beyond, and a nomination for this award is a great way to show you see and appreciate that excellence,” says Jaclyn Vincenti, ABYC marketing coordinator and staff lead for Marine Service Technician Week. “Whether you’re a supervisor, peer or customer, taking a moment to recognize your favorite technician is a powerful way to thank them for the work they do to keep us safe on the water.”
The awards include the “New Achiever” category which recognizes newcomers to the industry who have one to five years of experience and show exceptional skill, commitment and potential.
Nominations are accepted through March 23, and can be submitted at abycinc.org/outstandingtech2026.
ABYC also invites the industry to participate in social media activities throughout Marine Service Technician Week, with daily themes including:

- Tuesday, April 21 – Marine Service Programs and Schools
- Wednesday, April 22 – Female Technicians
- Thursday, April 23 – Outstanding Technician Announcements
- Friday, April 24 – The Future of the Industry: Aspiring Technicians
