Ohio DNR and Clean Marinas Program Promote Shrink Wrap Recycling

By March 16, 2026No Comments

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources and Ohio Clean Marinas Program is encouraging boaters to recycle shrink wrap this spring through the Ohio Boat Shrink Wrap Recycling Program. Last year, the program recycled 60,000 pounds of plastic, helping conserve landfill space, reduce plastic pollution in waterways and support recycling-related jobs in the state.

To recycle boat shrink wrap, first remove all nylon strapping on the boat. Then remove the shrink wrap and take out all wood, foam, vents, doors and any other non-shrink-wrap materials. Roll the clean plastic into a tight bundle and drop it off at one of the participating recycling locations listed here.
