Pros to Teach Boating Skills

By October 23, 2013No Comments

The National Safe Boating Council, in partnership with the Association of Marina Industries, received a U.S. Coast Guard grant to develop Marina Pro, a cadre of trained and certified professionals across the country who can teach on-the-water boating skills to the boating public.

The first classes were held September 10-13 at Nestegg Marine in Marinette, Wisconsin, which included both classroom and on-water training. Applicants for future classes must have relevant public speaking or teaching experience, successfully completed a NASBLA-approved basic boating safety course, and have at least five years of boating experience.
