Public Boat Slips are Coming to Cleveland’s Cuyahoga River

By June 30, 2019No Comments

Dock your boat at one of Cleveland’s 18 new, conveniently located day-use slips on the six-mile channel along the Cuyahoga River. The $2.2 million project is funded in part by the Federal Boating Infrastructure Grant Program and the slips can accommodate boats up to 26 feet, according to Cleveland Metroparks.

Twelve of the slips will be on the East Bank of the Flats in Rivergate Park and six slips will be on the West Bank of The Flats in Heritage Park.

“The mission of Cleveland Metroparks is connecting people with nature, which includes finding ways to enhance amenities and recreation opportunities for boaters along the Cuyahoga River,” says Cleveland Metroparks CEO Brian M. Zimmerman. “To receive the support for this project at a time when the Cuyahoga River is the focus of a 50-year celebration of revival is a fitting testament to the river’s resurgence as a place for recreation, as well as industry.”

The slips will be available for use by 2021. To learn more about the project, visit clevelandmetroparks.com/news-press/2019/june-2019/cleveland-metroparks-to-add-first-public-boat-slip.
