Rinker’s Q7 is a surprisingly deep boat in spite of its sporty profile and gracefully flowing sheerline.

That’s especially evident when you sit in the bow, where the generous freeboard provides a real sense of security and plenty of protection from wind and spray. The company aptly calls it a “hot tub-style” bow. Full wraparound loungers and conveniently-placed recessed stainless steel grabrails allow forward- or aft-facing seating here, with occupants positioned out of the driver’s view.

“The 20 degree deadrise hull and the deep hot tub-style seating gives the Q7 a safe and comfortable ride for children and adults alike,” says Stephen Wheatley, marketing manager for Rinker Boats.

The cockpit follows an open floorplan that makes it easy to move from front to back without having to step over other passengers. The port console houses a surprisingly large head compartment, while the adjacent helm console provides a generous amount of storage space for gear, including a dedicated spot for a removable cooler, a removable pedestal-mount table and a trash bin. An upholstered armrest for the driver’s throttle hand is a nice touch that works well with the helm’s contemporary design, featuring an elegantly-upholstered glass dash centered around a flush-mounted Simrad touch-screen display and a Gussi sport steering wheel.

The stylish twin bucket seats offer flip-up bolsters and nice upholstery work, making them every bit as comfy as they look. Just aft of the helm seat, the Q7 includes a fresh take on Rinker’s signature refreshment center, including a solid-surface countertop and a pop-up blender. The blender has been a staple in Rinker boats for years and remains one of its most popular design features.

Seating in the aft cockpit is on a large, L-shaped starboard- side lounger facing a portside bench. This is a versatile arrangement that allows people to move throughout the boat with ease while maximizing interior space. Overhead, a standard Bimini top provides relief from the midday sun. Speakers throughout let the standard Kicker KMC10 Bluetooth-enabled AM/FM weather band stereo shine.

The Q7 comes in both outboard and sterndrive versions, each with transom seating, a deep swim platform, pop-up cleats that won’t stub toes and a transom stereo remote.
