“The refresh of the Sabre 38 SE is an improvement on an already great vessel,” says Mark Felhofer of Bay Marine. “The small changes to seating, windows and doors are welcome changes that will update the 38 Sabre to current demands in our industry. The new Volvo Penta DPI propulsion system will be a huge plus for our Great Lakes market.”

The Sabre 38 SE is a perfect example of the company’s philosophy of “informed simplicity” when it comes to design. The Sabre 38 SE is a boat suitable for day tripping, as well as extended weekends and longer excursions, especially with her 300-gallon fuel tank, one full stateroom and a guest berth, spacious galley, lots of storage space and full head.

The cockpit features a bench just outside of the robust stainless framed door to the salon, as well as a three-person transom seat. A glossy, teak table separates the two seats, providing a perfect alfresco dining setting when on the hook for the afternoon, at a favorite overnight gunk hole or at the dock. This re-engineered 38 Salon Express will now be powered by twin 320-hp Volvo Penta D4 DPI.

The impressive helm is forward and to starboard, and an L-shape seating space is opposite. Just aft and to port is the dinette with a hi-low table, which easily converts into a spare berth. Large windows surround those inside with a panoramic, outside view.

“This boat will benefit from increased performance and fuel efficiency while decreasing its draft, a benefit that everyone who anchors in shallow waters will recognize,” Felhofer adds.

The Sabre 38 SE will transport its owners and guests in the kind of style, luxury and safety Sabre delivers to its owners and their guests.
